Fornalutx is an untouched, peaceful mountain village in the Tramuntana mountains, a 25 minute drive from Palma & the airport. The village supermarket, just across the Placa stocks everything including a good supply of international papers. There are cafés, six restaurants offering a wide choice of possibilities, a pharmacy, a baker as well as a very modern local health center.

This part of the West Coast of Mallorca offers other beautiful villages close by – Soller & Biniaraix are both a comfortable strole away. Valldemossa & Deia are less than 30 minutes by car. There are many wonderful well marked walks in the surrounding mountains as well as water sports in the Port of Soller where bikes may also be rented. The Port of Soller has lovely beaches and a large natural harbour, many restaurants, hotels & boutiques & very soon a state of the art sports centre.

Excursions by boat or bus or car to Sa Calobra and the Monastry of Lluc as well as the scenic route to Pollensa and Formentor are offered. The botanical Gardens of Soller and the Jardin d’Alfabia, on the other side of the Soller tunnel are both exceptional. Soller, a lively, pretty town with its own Cathedral has shops, banks, a truly wonderful Market, cafés, art galleries, restaurants & much more. It is connected to the Port through a regular tram service & to Palma via a marvelous train ride through the mountains. It is famous for its irresistible ice cream.
